Courage Is Essential for God's Purpose For You
By Lynn E. Sanders

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."  Hebrews 11:1

While listening to motivational speaker Les Brown, he stated "the wealthiest place in the world is the graveyard."  It is here that many dreams, desires, wishes, talents and God's purpose for us eternally rest when we depart from this earth.  Too often we are overcome by the spirit of fear which halts us from pressing forward toward what God placed inside for each of us to do.

While reflecting over my life I realized that it took courage to move on toward my accomplishments, in spite of the pain, disappointment, frustration, fears and obstacles.  Courage requires that you have faith as you keep moving forward.  To have faith you must see the end result of an accomplishment or goal.  Faith requires having a piece (substance) of the goal through our hope and desires.  Then it requires internally seeing (evidence) before it comes to pass.  Then it requires internally pushing when the deck is stacked against us.  Courage allows us to mend broken relationships and friendships. Courage also allows us to forgive offenses and be in a position to love again in spite of the pain.  It is the courage within us that separates us from the pack of non-believers while hoping for change.

It is through our faith in Jesus Christ and his courage to withstand the cross so that we could restore our relationship with the Father.  Substance and Evidence is required for faith, however it is Courage that enables us to seize an opportunity that others won't.  When courage shows up within us, God can do his work through us.

When the opportunity presents itself to make a difference, do you have the substance and evidence to show your courage while making an impact?
